"Tavo" is the short name for Gustavo. Or "Pavo": "Papá Pavo" for us.
The oldest of 8 siblings, grew up in a small town in Jalisco without having too many chances. His educational background only let him finish elementary school, but that never stopped him. He started working as a handyman at the La Purisima's Sugarmill and his ambition and will to move forward took him to learn and propel himself to the highest positions in the company, where even the engineers went to him every time they had doubts or difficult decisions to make.
Strict, refined, presumptuous, he always liked nice stuff and he has always been the classiest man ever since I remember. But that never stopped him from being generous nor taking a fatherly role with his first grandchildren, he always took them out to eat or to go shopping. And to this day, even though he doesn't express his feelings too much, he is extremely proud and always cries on the achievements of every single of his grandchildren.
This year you turn 90.
You don´t have idea of how much I admire you, and how happy makes me the fact that one of the favorite pieces of this brand has your name on it. Congratulations and thank you for everything.

El más grande de 8 hermanos, creció en un pueblo de Jalisco sin tener tantas oportunidades. Su nivel de estudios le permitió llegar sólo a la primaria pero eso nunca lo detuvo. Empezó trabajando como ayudante para el Ingenio Azucarero de La Purísima y su ambición y ganas de seguir adelante lo llevaron a aprender e impulsarse hasta llegar a los altos mandos del mismo, donde hasta los ingenieros recurrían a él cuando tenían dudas o decisiones complicadas.
Estricto, refinado, "pretencioso", siempre le gustó la buena vida y ha sido el hombre con más clase desde que lo recuerdo. Pero eso nunca le impidió ser generoso o tomar un rol muy paterno con sus nietos, siempre los llevaba a comer o de compras. Y hasta la fecha, aunque no exprese mucho sus sentimientos, llora y es el más orgulloso en los logros de cada uno de ellos.
Este año cumples 90.
No tienes una idea de cuánto te admiro, y lo feliz que me hace que una de las prendas favoritas de la marca lleve tu nombre. Felicidades y gracias por todo.
